After the Soweto massacre of unarmed people by the South African authorities, the Mullers decided that they could no longer continue to live in an apartheid system and so they left South Africa in disgust and settled in Ireland in 1977 where they were able to obtain Irish citizenship due to Max’s grandmother being a native of Glengarriff, Co. Cork.

In Ireland the Mullers’ artistic talents developed and flowered in an increasingly liberal environment.

The BES was introduced to allow individuals a tax deduction for the cost of investing in certain Irish companies.  The purpose of the relief is to encourage investment and to create or maintain employment in such companies.  It is well documented that Irish business are currently facing major difficulties in raising finance from banks.  Given the current circumstances Irish companies would be extremely well advised to consider the BES as an alternative method of raising finance for the purposes of creating or maintaining employment, enlarging capacity, increasing sales, engaging in research and development, identifying new markets and developing existing markets.

Corporation Tax

Preliminary corporation tax for accounting periods ending 30 September 2010.

First installment of preliminary corporation tax for accounting periods of large companies ending 28 February 2011.

Corporation tax returns for accounting periods ended 30 November 2009.

Balance of corporation tax due for accounting periods ended 30 November 2009.

Third party information returns for accounting periods ended 30 November 2009.

Remember, where returns and payments are made electronically the return and payment deadlines are being extended to the 23rd day of the month
